The Edison Track & Field team took to the track tonight at the annual Jefferson County Relays held at Steubenville Catholic Central. The girls finished in 3rd place with 111 points. Indian Creek won the meet with 153. The boys finished 4th with 74 with Steubenville winning the title with 127.
Faith Hoobler was the lone winner for the girls taking first in the discus. Placing second was Faith Hoobler in the shot put, the 4 x 8 team of Morgan Lesnansky, Delaney Johnson, Libby McAfoose, and Caroline Williamson, the 4 x 1 team of Gracie Phillips, Holly Valentine, Ava Koniski, and Karissa Speedy, and the Shuttle Hurdle team of Georgia Stinespring, Holly Valentine, Gracie Phillips, and Karissa Speedy. Taking third was Karissa Speedy in the 100 hurdles, the 4 x 2 team of Gracie Phillips, Holly Valentine, Georgia Stinespring, and Bailey McAfoose, Morgan Lesnansky in the 1600, the 800 and the 3200, and Holly Valentine in the 300 Hurdles.
For the boys, Bryce McAfoose led the way with winning the 300 Hurdles, second in long jump, third in the 110 Hurdles and was part of the third place Shuttle team which led him to win the High Point Award in the men’s division. Kaleb Waggoner won the high jump. Placing third was the 4 x 8 team of Parker Scaffidi, Justin Wade, Hayden Johnson, and Owen Howell, Hayden Johnson in the 1600, Jacob Cusick in the 400, and the shuttle hurdle team of Justin Wade, Hayden Johnson, Jacob Larkins, and Bryce McAfoose.
