The Edison Track & Field team was in action in the last regular season meet of the 2019 season. The girls finished third and the boys were fourth.
Faith Hoobler won the shot put and discus and broke her own school record in the discus with a throw of 132-11. Her previous mark was 127 feet even. Caroline Williamson placed second in the 1600 and third in the 800. Natasha Fedorka placed third in the discus and fifth in the shot put. Libby McAfoose placed second in the 200. Gracie Phillips placed second in the 300 Hurdles and third in the 100 Hurdles. Holly Valentine placed fifth in the 100 Hurdles. Delaney Johnson placed fifth in the 800. The 4 x 2 team placed second.
Bryce McAfoose placed first in the 300 Hurdles, second in the 110 Hurdles, and third in the long jump. Jacob Cusick placed third in both the 200 and 400 and fifth in the long jump. Hayden Johnson placed second in the 3200 and third in the 1600 and third in the 300 Hurdles. Nathan Lucas placed fifth in the 1600. Lukas McCain placed fourth in the discus and fifth in the shot put. The 4 x 2 team placed third.
The track team will be back in action on Thursday and Saturday for the district track meet at West Holmes High School. The top four in each event will move on to regional meet the following week.
